My name is Christina Chu, and I am a Boston based sports dietitian. Excited to have you all in town for EATA!

If anyone needs recs for what to do in the area, feel free to use the guide below, all in the beautiful Seaport neighborhood where the Westin is located (within a 15-20 min walk):

Breakfast:

Pressed Cafe

Pop Up Bagel (would recommend going with a group and sharing. Bagel shop from NYC! Lines are long on the weekend but typically move fast).

Tatte

Flour Bakery

Elephantine Bakery

Revival Cafe/Kitchen

Coffee:

Little Wolf (my favorite)

Caffe Nero

Blue Bottle

Revival Cafe/Kitchen

Dunkin (when in Rome!)

Sit Down Meals:

Yume Ga Arukara (udon noodle shop)

Mai (Handrolls)

Bar Taco

Citrus & Salt

Legal Seafood

Lola 42

Committee

Boqueria (Tapas)

Mecha Noodle Bar

Fast Casual/Takeout:

Greco

Dig Inn

Pressed Cafe

Tatte

Sandwiches from J. Pace & Son or Cardullo's Gourmet Shoppe

Drinks (* = may need reservation):

Lolita's*

Nautilus*

Reel Oyster Bar*

Trillium Brewery

Lucky's

Wood Hills Pier 4*

The Sporting Club

Borrachito speakeasy

Workouts:

Backyard

Equinox (if anyone wants a day pass, feel free to email me contact@christinaychu.com)

Solidcore

Things to do:

Walk along the Harborwalk, check out the ice sculptures!

Five Iron Golf

F1 Arcade

Flight Club

Puttshack

Kings

Comedy show at Laugh Boston

Some things to keep in mind:

It's cold and windy in this neighborhood since you're right along the harbor and there's a decent amount of higher buildings. Don't forget your long socks and hats!

Most people walk or take the train, you can always uber/lyft/cab. The closest train stop to the venue is World Trade Center (Silver Line), which you can take towards south station (Red Line) which can get you pretty much anywhere in the city.

If you're flying out of Logan, you can take the Silver Line (look for "SL1") directly to the airport, should only be a 10 min ride or so and it'll drop you off right at baggage claim in your terminal!

People here are definitely kind but efficient - walk on the right side of the road, if you have to stop/want to take a picture, pull off to the side so you don't disrupt the flow of foot traffic, and if you like to jaywalk, you'll fit right in (just be safe and look both ways for bikes/scooters)!

Happy to answer any other questions/if you have any other requests! Welcome to Boston :)

What are some can't-miss sessions at the EATA Annual Meeting?

Are you attending the 78th EATA Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium in Boston January 9-12? If so, be sure to mark your calendars to attend the Pinky Newell Memorial Address and Breakfast - 78th EATA Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium in the Harbor Ballroom on Sunday, January 11th from 8:30-9:30 AM. A highlight year after year, the address this year will be given by Tim Weston, Med, ATC, Director of Sports Medicine and Associate Athletic Director of Colby College this year and is in honor of William E. “Pinky” Newell, the “father” of modern athletic training. I'm sad to have to miss it this year as not only will you leave inspired but with some exclusive Gatorade swag!

Who’s headed to EATA Boston?

Going to the EATA convention in Boston?
